Actress Charlbi Dean passed away

The South African actor, who starred in Triangle of Sadness, the Palme d'Or winner, passed suddenly on Monday in New York City.

Variety's editors stated that Charlbi passed away from a “unexpected illness”.

The young Cape Town-born actress made her acting debut in the Spud movie from 2010 and returned to play Amanda in the follow-up.

She also played Syonide in the TV series Black Lightning and had roles in the 2018 film Interview with God.
