Broncos, Russell Wilson agrees to 5-year extension worth $245 million

Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos will be riding together for quite a while

According to numerous sources, QB Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos have agreed on a five-year, $245 million extension that includes $165 million in guarantees

The information was first released by ESPN and later confirmed to the Associated Press by a source familiar with the agreement

Wilson will remain in Denver until the 2028 season with an average salary of $49 million per year thanks to the agreement

The nine-time Pro Bowl QB Wilson, who was traded to Denver in March, has only been there a short while but made his intention clear to stay with the team in the long run

In terms of guaranteed money, the 33-year old's contract is the third-highest in NFL history

Only Deshaun Watson ($230 million) of the Cleveland Browns and Kyler Murray ($189.5 million) of the Arizona Cardinals have more lucrative contracts than Wilson

Only Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers have more touchdown throws in the past ten years than the nine-time Pro Bowler, Wilson

He guided the Seahawks to the victory in Super Bowl XLVIII, their lone NFL championship to date
