Chengdu, a City of China Locks Down 21.2 Million People 


Chengdu, a large city in southwest China, announced a lockdown of its 21.2 million inhabitants 

The city has launched 4 days of Citywide Covid-19 testing, because of Outbreak of Covid-19.  

As per the government statements, one person is allowed to send to shop for substantial equipments.  

It is still unknown if the lockdown will be lifted after the Sunday mass testing is finished. 

Apart from this city, Shenzhen & Dalian have also stepped up Covid restrictions this week.  

Residents in Chengdu got panicked for purchasing necessities items & equipments. 

Residents in Chengdu were warned to stay inside the city unless absolutely necessary,  

While non-essential personnel were asked to work from home 

Flights have been significantly curtailed to and from Chengdu.

The most populous district Baoan and the tech hub Nanshan in Shenzhen have mandated stricter checks of digital health credentials 

And has temporarily suspended major events and indoor entertainment.
