Elon Musk cites further justifications for terminating his agreement with Twitter after subpoenas are sent

On Monday, Elon Musk's attorneys informed Twitter that there may be further justifications for Mr. Musk to withdraw from the $44 billion acquisition agreement in light of Pieter Zatko's recent whistle-blower report.

According to Mr. Zatko, Twitter has been "materially misrepresenting" and "omitting" information for years regarding the security and privacy features built into its platform. The assertions of Mr. Zatko have been roundly denied by Twitter officials.

In a letter to Twitter sent in July, Mr. Musk stated that his initial justification for pulling out of the agreement was based on Twitter's public disclosures that the company had a large number of bogus accounts on its network, on which he had relied when he agreed to buy the company.
