Everton and Nottingham Forest were tied, thanks to a goal by Demarai Gray with two minutes remaining.

Gray was in stride as Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford sent a long pass over the top, and with a beautiful first touch, he beat Dean Henderson for the equalizer.

Everton, who were playing their third game, earned the first point of the year, while newly promoted Forest added a fourth.

Everton had a great start to the game and had plenty of chances, but Henderson made another outstanding save in goal for Forest.

Taiwo Awoniyi had a chance inside the Everton box but was unable to beat Pickford.

Brennan Johnson scored on a rebound in the 81st minute to give his team a brief 1-0 advantage.

Everton's unimpressive offensive performance throughout the game made it appear as though Nottingham Forest would win all three points,

But Pickford's direct pass to Gray, who scored, sent Goodison Park into a frenzy.
