Leão’s double forces Inter Milan settle with 3-2 loss against AC Milan

Despite an Inter Milan comeback in the second half, Rafael Leao led AC Milan to win in the Derby Della Madonnina with two goals and one assist

After 21 minutes, Marcelo Brozovic broke through the opposition defence and rolled a finish past AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan to give Simone Inzaghi's team the lead against the odds

But the defending Serie A winners AC Milan soon reacted and evened the score through Leao, who scored after Inter gave up possession carelessly in the center of the field

Olivier Giroud's strike past Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic nine minutes into the second half gave AC Milan the lead after Leao's excellent effort down the left side prolonged their dominance

And to make it 3-1 for the home team, Leao scored a goal reminiscent of a vintage Milan derby by outmuscling his defender and slipping the finish into the far corner

It compelled Inzaghi to make a number of substitutions, and Edin Dzeko came off the bench and had an immediate impact by converting a Matteo Darmian cross to give Inter hope of a comeback

However, AC Milan managed to hold on and overtake their competitors, defeating Inter for the second time this season
